Back to school :(

Hi,

So I'm pretty much going to post whenever I get the inspiration.. This is why my posts haven't been regular recently, I just haven't had much stuff to write about... Also, for future reference, the next couple of weeks might go by without a post, that's simply because I'm going back to school and will be getting back into my school routine.

I go back to school on tomorrow and I'm terrified (to say the least) I'm going to be in the sixth form (which is the last 2 years of my education) and taking A levels. I'm going to be doing Biology, Chemistry, French, Maths and at my school there's an option to take GCSE Italian with your A levels, so I'm doing that as well. Apparently we have to put in 5 hours of study outside of lessons per subject, so I'm pretty much going to have no social life after 25 hours of extra study per week. Yay!

On the plus side, my uniform isn't as disgusting as it used to be. We now wear a navy pencil skirt, white fitted blouse (any sleeve length), a navy jumper/cardigan, flesh coloured tights (in summer) or black/navy tights (in winter) and black shoes. We are also allowed to wear nail varnish and have our hair down, which is good.

I will probably be posting again soon about school..

Results, Results, Results

Sorry this is late.. Again.

So on Thursday I received my GCSE results, which was nerve racking, to say the least. Although I did well, 7As, 2Bs and a C, which is alright considering I was expecting mostly Ds and Cs. My mum made a deal with me beforehand, saying that for every A/A* I got she would give me £100, I'm only getting £200 though because she bought my surfboard, which was £500. She's probably regretting that deal now.

So I'm buying clothes now which is fun, and I'm saving £100 for when I go to London again in September (for more appointments) as the doctors cannot figure out what is wrong with me, and we will be going to Oxford street and primark!!!!

Bye for now

Chihuahua chaos

Hi

Sorry this is late.

So most of you won't know that I have a little dog called Louis...

And over the weekend I left guernsey to travel up to Peterborough to visit the people who bred him.

They are lovely. They have the loveliest dogs that are well trained and well looked after. Louis even got to see his mum and his sister for the first time since he was about 4 months old (he's now almost 2), although most of the beginning of the weekend was spent getting mixed up between Louis, Missy (his mum) and Kenzo (his sister). They are so alike apart from Missy and Kenzo being darker on their backs.

There they are, the little beauties!

Photo Fail

So the shooting stars were amazing, I must have seen over 20 in the period of about an hour, sat outside alone on my trampoline. In a way, after I got over the fear of a murderer silently creeping towards me and killing me, it was kind of relaxing, I don't think I've ever just lay down and stared at the stars. I couldn't get any photos, because I'm stupid. You need to have certain lenses and tripods and all this complicated stuff, astrophotography as people like to call it is very hard. In case you were wondering, I did wish on pretty much all of the stars, for the same thing really, I can't tell anyone what I wished for otherwise it won't come true..

I'm quite sad aren't I?

I would upload the photos onto here but they're just black images so I won't bother.

Sun, sea, sand and stuff

Hi,

So I've decided to have main posts generally on Mondays and some smaller posts on other weekdays.

I'm quite happy at the moment, the sun has been shining a lot recently which means I have been sunbathing. I'm not quite as tanned as some of my friends, but I'm getting there! I've also been down the beach more than last year. Last week I went jumping off tommy rock (a rock just outside bordeaux harbour) into the sea with Ellie, in hindsight we were pretty pathetic, we managed to swim out to the rock, although I was sure that my muscles would seize up due to the cold and I would drown. It probably took us about 5 or 6 minutes to swim out there and then about 25 minutes to actually jump off. We only jumped once because it was freezing but it was fun and we will be going again!

There is supposed to be a meteor shower tonight so I'm waiting for that and I will post pictures later.

Hey

So it's been ages, I know I should have posted but I think I'm going to be writing more regularly like every Friday or other day.

Anyway I'm currently painting my surfboard with posca pens, which takes ages but I've made a lot of progress since yesterday! However the large parts are just as hard as the small precise parts which is just annoying.

I also have to go back to London on the 12th and the 13th for more appointments, but I am going to see war horse at the new London theatre (I think) which is amazing (even though I've already seen it) but I loved it and my mum says she's always wanted to see it, so we're going!

I also passed my grade 4 singing exam with a merit, I was 7 marks off a distinction which is annoying but it's only made me want to try harder and get a distinction in my grade 5!

Well I have to go now but I will be uploading progress of my surfboard on here later.

Sennen and surfing

Hey guys,

I'm so sorry that I haven't posted anything in about 5 weeks but I've been really busy and I'm currently in Cornwall on holiday.

I've been surfing pretty much every day this week, and the temperature has been in excess of 30 degrees and in some places over 40, which is ridiculous because this is England for gods sake. There hasn't been any wind so there is no other way to escape the heat other than the sea, which has been between 16 and 20 degrees. It's nice but it makes me regret bringing my winter wetsuit which is 5:4:3 (that's the thickness in mm, so at the thickest parts it will be 5mm and at the thinnest 3mm).

We're currently driving up to Newquay to go to a surfboard factory to get my new board and Ellie will be pleased to know that I've finally decided what I want to put on my board! I've been stuck on that since march/April. There's this artist who does these pictures of surf in Hawaii and they're really nice and pretty simple images.

Her website is
www.heatherbrownart.com

I've been surfing with Sennen Surfing Centre this week and I've got more sessions next week so I'm happy. The surf instructors there are fantastic, and if you are looking for somewhere to learn to surf I would highly recommend sennen! After going there for 3 years in a row I have a lot of banter with the surf instructors, the topic this year is mostly my purple (now lilac because of the sun) hair which has one of the surf instructors borrowing my hair dye. Last year it was one of the instructor's hair (it looks like Justin bieber's hair). Yesterday I had to take the warm up session with another girl to see if we had what it takes to be a surf instructor, apparently we do!

I'm getting a Penny Skateboard and I think I'm going to get a white deck, turquoise wheels and either black or white trucks? (I believe that's what they're called).

I'm really excited because my parents are looking at cottages over here as holiday homes, so I can come back every summer and go surfing which is sick! Next year I'll be able to drive so my mum is making me do an advanced driving test so that I'll be able to drive over here.

Speak to you soon!

Prom!!

Hey guys,

How are you guys? In case you're wondering, I'm great! Sorry I haven't posted in ages, I have been so tired! And sorry that my last post was a massive rant! So, last night was our prom and it was ok, well spending time with my friends was amazing and we they were enjoying dancing, a lot. I on the other hand don't dance and feel awkward dancing but that's just me. It could have been better, however we were not allowed to drink while we were there, which, I think, could have lifted the mood a little bit. We had it at a castle on an island off the coast of Guernsey. Slightly odd choice of venue but I wasn't on prom committee so it wasn't my choice. A friend and I actually decided the things that could have made it better.

It would have been better if :
- we were allowed to drink. Now, I'm not much of a drinker (I know my limits) but we thought that the mood could have been lifted if there was alcohol there although some would have definitely drunk too much and could have ruined it but we probably would have drunk until we were merry. :)
- the weather had been nicer. The weather throughout the day wasn't that great, so if it had been nicer we probably would have been happier, as by the time we left it was freezing!
-there wasn't that much wind. Seriously, the wind last night was a mofo, it was really strong and really cold. Especially after it got dark.
- it was at a different venue. As cool as it was having it at castle cornet, if we had had it at another venue we would have been allowed to drink, plus the mood just didn't feel quite right, as castle cornet is now a museum., It felt a bit like, you touch anything, you die!

Other than that it was amazing and I got to talk to someone I hadn't seen for ages, we were chatting for over an hour! Which was good.

Speak to you later :)

Things never go right for me :/

Hey,

So the vlog isn't going to happen. Some of you might be disappointed but I literally have spent most of the weekend trying to edit the stupid film but it won't work! I changed the file type of the film to a type that windows movie maker actually understands, and I upload it and then put it in the film, but it doesn't want to work for me and the sound is wrong and the video jumps between images. So, I have decided that until I can sort that out I will not vlog using that camera and instead I will use my Olympus digital camera. So, if I do anything exciting this week (other than prom, which I will be vlogging about) I will vlog it using that camera and it will be in a format that movie maker will understand without going crazy and stupid.

The other thing that I want to say is going to come as a surprise to my friends, who I know will read this. Basically, I hate the way that my parents treat me, because of the way that my sister acts and behaves. She's 19 but most of the stuff she gets moody about is pathetic - she once got in a mood because, despite the fact that she works, she wanted my mum to buy her a £900 sherri hill prom dress for her boyfriend's leavers party - she didn't want to pay for it because apparently my mum never buys her anything. She may think that she does but she definitely does not have any friends, the last time she was friends with someone my grandfather was really ill, and she kept trying to make herself the centre of attention, the girl she was friends with told her she needed to grow up because we obviously had more important things on our minds, so they fell out. Since she started at college she immediately became friends with the wrong people, the ones who smoked and drank all night, until they were throwing up and passing out. This is apparently why my parents don't trust me, they don't want me to do the same thing that she has done, they generally only let me drink when they can watch over me, and I was lucky to get my mums permission to drink a bit before prom. I keep trying to convince them that I'm nothing like my sister but she just won't believe it! My sister and I couldn't be more opposite! I've literally tried everything to convince them that I'm not like her but that isn't enough.

The second thing that annoys me about my parents is that they don't support what I want to do with my life, because I'm quite academic and I like biology and French (because they're the only subjects I'm actually good at) they think that I should get a really academic career, something I don't want. Most of you won't know this, except Eleanor, but I actually want to sing, and I know it's unrealistic, believe me, I do. But I've never really wanted to be anything else. I know that throughout my time at college I've said that I want to be things like a vet, a marine biologist, a geneticist (the most recent) and other academic things, but they were all lies. I've always wanted to sing, for as long as I can remember, but being academic meant that my parents don't support it and won't support it. I only managed to convince my mum to let me get singing lessons a couple of years ago by telling her that universities look well upon candidates that have grades in music (which they do), because it shows that you can work towards a deadline, and in effect be able to perform. I actually started the singing lessons with no intention on taking grades I just wanted the practice and the confidence to be able to sing in public. I used to be confident in my voice, but suddenly I wasn't confident anymore. My singing teacher said that it was ok to not want to do grades, but after a year my mum said that I would have to give up if I didn't want to do grades so now I'm working towards grade 4 which is good, I suppose. I don't care about being famous, that doesn't bother me, I just want to do what I want to do!

I know this blog post is really long and boring, but I promise there is a point to it. I'm learning now that  if you're young, younger than me, my age or even slightly older than me, never give up on what you want to do. Even if right now you're 12 sat at home watching your favourite film or tv programme and wishing that when you're older you could be an actor, do what David Tennant did, get out, join a drama club and practice, so that when you tell your parents that you want to be an actor or whatever you want to be they can see that you're serious about it. I think that must be where I went wrong. I don't want to look back on myself in 10 years time and think, why didn't I do that? Why did I do this? Believe me because I can tell that must be the worst feeling in the world.

There is an amazing video on YouTube that illustrates my point perfectly

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFGAQrEUaeU

Watch this and you'll get the point

Herm trip and vlogging

Hey guys

Yesterday my friend, the pickpocket extraordinaire, and I went to Herm for the day. In case you didn't know, and you probably won't, Herm is a very small island off the coast of Guernsey (where I live) and when I say small I mean it! It would probably take you about an hour and a half to walk around it and it has less than 70 residents, currently.

We arrived at 8:49 am (I've been told specifically) and we left at about quarter to 4, we didn't really do much other than go to the beach, buy too many sweets and eat too much! But it was fun and I'm sure we will definitely be going again. We wanted to hire Kayaks and go kayaking for a bit but the people who hire them out didn't come (probably because it was during the week) so we ended up sitting on the beach and watching these insane people go swimming in the sea. I put my feet in to see what the temperature was like and my feet instantly went numb, then my muscles started to spasm. It was cold.

I also started vlogging yesterday, which was fun and I would have uploaded the vlog (and this post) yesterday, but I was tired and the videos were in a format that windows movie maker doesn't recognise. So, I am currently downloading some software that will change the format from .m2ts to any other file type, great! Other than that I'm ok and I was pretty happy yesterday after we saw seal, which by the way is my new pet and i have decided that when I am older I am going to buy a marine park just so that I can own a pet seal!

Also, on a side note, I would recommend that you guys check out my friends' blogs they are pretty funny and we made a deal so I have to say this. They are:
http://thoughtsofaswedemovinghome.blogspot.com/  - this is the pickpocket extraordinaire a.k.a. Malin
http://eleanorshaw.blogspot.com/  - this is my best friend in the whole wide world ever! a.k.a. Eleanor

The Vlog will be up on my YouTube channel later

EXAMS ARE OVER!!! WOOHOO :D

Hey!

How have you guys been? So, I logged onto my blog this evening after finishing my last of 20 exams to find that after only 4 posts I already had 69 page views (which in itself is pretty funny) but I also noticed that you guys aren't just from Guernsey, Jersey, the USA or other English speaking countries. You guys are all over the world. Which is amazing and I know that 69 page views really isn't much but to me it means everything that 69 people are even remotely interested in what I have to say about life.

This is only this week but it's still amazing!

In case you didn't read the first line you'll get that I finished taking my GCSEs today and after 20 exams I definitely want that well deserved rest! Hopefully the summer holidays will be good and I
will get to spend loads of time with my friends and the people that really matter to me. Summer is going to be awesome and I cant wait to share my experiences with you! I'm going on holiday to Cornwall this year to go surfing along the amazing beaches there, plus a few visits to Jersey in between that, I'll also be going to London twice this summer once for an appointment and again in August where I shall be exploring London with my parents. I might be going again for New Years but that's way into the future. So you guys tell me, how are you going to be spending your summer?

P.S. If you could comment about what you want me to write about it would be great. Thanks! Have a great day :)

Sorry

Hey,

Sorry I haven't posted anything in over a week but sleep has definitely been evading me, and after nineteen exams, now one left, you'd think I would be embracing sleep. There was a thunderstorm last night at one in the morning, right outside my window, then I remembered that I had forgotten to lock the door to my house. It resulted in me sprinting down the stairs to the front door, locking it, then sprinting upstairs again. Sounds paranoid? I know, I am, but I'm scared of a lot of things (mostly heights) and it makes me panic. But my friend and I will be sorting out some stuff today so there will probably be some videos appearing on YouTube throughout next week!

YouTube

Hi

Thought I'd share with you something that entertained me today whilst on YouTube. Basically, I live on a little island in the Channel Islands called Guernsey, we are a crown dependency of the UK and are actually British. Despite, the fact that we are actually closer to France, by about 49 miles, so I'm not really that surprised that people get mistaken and think that we are French. I'm not trying to say that there is anything wrong with being French, in fact French is one of my favourite lessons in school and I love the subject but watching adverts that you can't skip, in a language that  you're really unsure of, at a speed that makes no sense is very confusing...

Childhood

Hi!

How are you today? I'm good, in case you were wondering. Thought I'd show you guys, or gals, what I generally do in school holidays. I actually like to remind myself of my childhood and watch old films and tv shows. So, at the moment, I'm watching Scooby Doo meets the Boo Brothers, one of my all time favourites. Although not all of the characters are in it, the film has a good plot and (no longer) scary ghosts.

I also like watching classic Disney films like Beaty and the Beast and the Hunchback of Notre Dame. I know that it's a bit sad and some people might think I'm weird but to be honest I really don't care. I enjoy it and it reminds me of my childhood, when I was free of exams. I love films and if I had a preferred genre it would probably be comedy, I love these films because they generally make relatable mundane or even sad situations quite funny. So, what do you like doing to remind you of your childhood? What are your favourite films/film genres? And why? Answer in the comments and I will read them.

Hey! :)

Hi!

This is my first blog and I'm not really sure what to write about, I also have a YouTube channel that I'm going to start posting videos on about my life, my friends, just things that generally happen to me on a daily basis. This summer I've taken it upon myself to try and get fitter and healthier, so that sometime in the future I can hopefully do something amazing, (like run a marathon) I want to try and make myself a better person and do things for charity. I know this isn't really that interesting at the moment but I'm going to make something out of myself!

I'm Georgia and I hope you're going to watch my path unfold before me.
